Padlock Manufacturing at Raviron
Raviron is a China-based padlock manufacturer established in 2010 in Pujiang County, Jinhua, Zhejiang. Our approximately 19,600 m² operation supports metal processing, component preparation, surface finishing, assembly, inspection, packing and warehouse activities for wholesale, OEM and private label orders.
Production is organized across approximately 6–8 lines according to product type and order structure. The exact route depends on whether the order involves brass, stainless steel, iron, carbon steel, aluminum alloy, zinc alloy or engineering-plastic components. Smart, combination, alarm, laminated steel and conventional keyed padlocks also require different component and assembly arrangements.
Manufacturing is controlled against the confirmed specification and approved sample. Body dimensions, shackle clearance, cylinder configuration, keying, finish, logo and packaging must be defined before mass production begins.
Material and Component Preparation
Material preparation starts from the confirmed padlock structure. The body material, shackle material, cylinder components, keys, springs, locking elements and packaging materials must correspond to the approved model and purchasing specification.
Incoming materials and prepared components are checked for type, dimensions, appearance and suitability for the next operation. Material selection affects body weight, machining method, corrosion performance, surface appearance and target cost. It should therefore be confirmed according to the application rather than selected only by product appearance.
Components for different models or keying programs need to remain identifiable during preparation. Mixing similar-looking cylinders, shackles or keys can create functional and packing problems later in production.
Padlock Body Machining and Forming
Lock bodies may require CNC machining, stamping, drilling, cutting or other model-specific operations. Solid brass bodies, laminated steel bodies, aluminum bodies and round disc-lock structures do not follow exactly the same processing route.
Critical dimensions include the body width and thickness, cylinder opening, shackle-hole position and the internal areas used by the locking mechanism. Dimensional variation at this stage can affect cylinder installation, shackle movement and final locking performance.

Shackle Forming and Processing
The shackle must match the lock body, locking mechanism and intended locking point. Processing may include cutting, forming, end preparation, surface treatment and dimensional checking, depending on the selected material and model.
Shackle diameter, internal height, internal width and alignment are checked against the specification. A long shackle needs more than additional height; its proportions and fit must remain compatible with the body and locking structure.
Surface protection and material selection should reflect the required application. Any corrosion-resistance or additional testing requirement must be specified before quotation and sample approval. More details are available on the shackle forming and processing page.
Surface Finishing and Logo Preparation
Padlock bodies and shackles may require polishing, plating, coating, anodized finishes or other suitable surface treatments. The process depends on the base material, required appearance and intended use.
Checks focus on finish coverage, color consistency, visible marks, coating condition and differences between production batches. Logo marking is coordinated with the finished surface because engraving, laser marking and printing can produce different results on brass, stainless steel, aluminum and coated bodies.
A confirmed color reference and approved logo sample provide clearer production standards than general descriptions such as “gold,” “silver” or “matte black.”
Assembly, Cylinder Installation and Key Matching
During assembly, the cylinder, shackle, springs and locking components are fitted into the prepared body. Component fit must allow the key and locking mechanism to operate without abnormal resistance.
Key matching is particularly important for wholesale orders containing many locks. Keyed Different and Keyed Alike groups must be identified according to the confirmed arrangement. Master-key requirements require model-specific evaluation before production.

Function and Appearance Inspection
Inspection takes place during production and after final assembly. The applicable checkpoints depend on the padlock category, but commonly include:
- Body and shackle dimensions
- Cylinder and shackle fit
- Key insertion and rotation
- Locking and release operation
- Key-to-lock matching
- Combination reset or electronic functions where applicable
- Logo position and clarity
- Surface appearance and finish consistency
Finished samples are compared with the approved specification and sample. Inspection requirements that involve a buyer-specific method, third-party agency or additional laboratory testing should be agreed before production.
Packing and Export Preparation
Packing begins after the padlock, keys, labels and packaging components have passed the required checks. The operator confirms the correct product model, key quantity, instruction sheet, barcode, inner packaging and carton arrangement.
Color boxes, blister packs, inner boxes and export cartons must follow the approved packing specification. Carton quantity and marking are checked before the goods are prepared for shipment.

Manufacturing Information for a Bulk Order
To evaluate a padlock project, please provide the product type, body material and dimensions, shackle specification, cylinder and keying requirement, quantity, finish, logo, packaging and destination country.
Standard bulk production is usually around 25–35 days after the specification is confirmed. More complex OEM projects may require approximately 35–45 days depending on sample approval, components, finish and packaging. The final schedule is confirmed for the actual order rather than estimated only from the product category.
